Since then many dignitaries, each a whizz in varied aspects of their career, have received this prestigious award. The wards are opened to general public, associations, NGOs and non NGOs in India. Candidates are selected by a Jury which consists of executive committee and patrons of FIMA. A study is made through various media for their contributions and social services based on merit & outstanding candidates are then invited to present their credentials along with supporting material in the form of press releases, press kit, pictures, or other relevant documents. The candidates are then scrutinized in their specific disciplines.
People who have committed to the pursuit of social justice to the enhancement of quality of life and to the development of full potential of each individual group and community in the society, have struggled to succeed in solving social issues at every level of society and improve economic status especially among the poor, sick and riot affected victims. Evaluation is based on quality and quantity of contributors might, until a clear winner emerges. This slow and thorough process is arguably what gives this award its importance.
The nominees are invited to a grand ceremony hosted by FIMA in their honor and the winners are presented with awards in presence of distinguished guests and a large august gathering of audience.
